Location of the Alcazaba of Malaga

The Alcazaba of Malaga, the undisputed symbol of the city, is located in the heart of the historic centre. Its main entrance is located on Calle Alcazabilla, an easy access point from where the tour begins. It starts at the lower part of the monument, crossing the defensive areas with their intricate network of corridors and towers, and ascends to the upper area, where the palace is located, with its Andalusian-style gardens and courtyards.

There is also an alternative access via Calle Guillén Sotelo, which connects directly to the top of the monument via a lift. However, this access is not currently available. We will inform you on this page when it is operational again.

Parking Information

It is important to note that the Alcazaba does not have its own parking area. If you decide to come by car, we recommend using the nearest public car parks, such as the car park in Plaza de la Merced, Plaza de la Marina or Plaza de Toros, all just a few minutes’ walk from the monument. Opting for public transport or a walk from the historic centre are the best alternatives to fully enjoy your visit.
