Alcazaba School Visits

On this visit, the meeting point will be in the Pedro Luis Alonso gardens, located next to the town hall. This place is ideal, as it has a stop where buses can drop off and pick up students without any inconvenience. There, we will begin by introducing ourselves and getting to know our young visitors. We will organize the groups and each guide will choose which group to accompany throughout the activity.

Once everything is ready, we will head to the entrance of the Alcazaba to begin the tour. We will begin by exploring the defensive area, where students will be able to understand how the architecture of a fortification could be decisive in battles. In addition, they will relive in an educational and dynamic way what the fight for the conquest of Malaga was like. Upon reaching the palace area, you will discover the customs of the Arab people on the peninsula during the Middle Ages, their rich culture and the valuable legacy they left behind, which remains an essential part of our identity today.

Why choose us?

Our school visits to the Alcazaba of Malaga are designed to turn history into an enjoyable, educational experience adapted to each group and school stage. We have a team of qualified guides (not monitors), specialized in geography, history and education, who know how to connect naturally with students from the first moment. Our guides not only master the historical content, but also understand the pedagogical needs of each educational level, offering an experience where students not only acquire knowledge, but also feel motivated to learn more.

Adaptation to Each Educational Cycle

Each visit is personalized to fit the specific needs of each school cycle, from the second cycle of kindergarten to secondary school. We take care of even the smallest detail, adapting the content and the way it is presented to the age of the group, always respecting the educational programme of each level. In this way, each activity is accessible, relevant and significant, becoming an experience that facilitates historical understanding and encourages active participation and interest in the past.

An Unrivalled Setting for Learning History

The Alcazaba of Malaga, the main symbol of the city and the ideal setting for an unforgettable school visit. This imposing fortification, admired for centuries by all those who have seen it, was considered a practically invincible construction, strategically designed to control the southern coast of the peninsula and protect Malaga from possible invasions. A living history classroom, perfect for students to immerse themselves in the past and understand the crucial role of the Alcazaba in medieval times.

Exploring its narrow corridors and imposing towers is like travelling back in time. Students will be able to understand in a tangible way how the fortification was used for defence and how its architectural features offered protection. In every corner of the Alcazaba, one can imagine the intensity of a battle, the strategic movements in its corners and the constant surveillance from its viewing points, which offered a privileged view of the horizon.

But the Alcazaba was not only a military bastion; it was also the home of the Muslim rulers who lived surrounded by luxury in their palace. By touring this part of the complex, students will discover the cultural richness of the Arab people, evidenced in the courtyards with crystal-clear fountains, the gardens designed for rest and contemplation, and the spaces decorated with details that reflect the grandeur of their time. This contrast between the harshness of defence and the delicacy of palace life allows us to understand how military strategy and cultural refinement coexisted in medieval Malaga.
